In 1994, I changed career to become a paramedic in the London Ambulance service. I qualified in “999” ambulance driving and, for 8 years, responded to emergency calls. I worked out of various ambulance stations in South and Central London, until being permanently based at Bromley Ambulance Station.
In 2002, I changed career again to become a DSA approved driving instructor (ADI), and have been successfully teaching people to drive since 2003.
Initially I was franchised to a national driving school, but now I am fully independent. This gives me more freedom to teach more thoroughly and to be more flexible.
As with all fully qualified ADIs, I am regularly check-tested by DSA examiners to ensure my continued competence to teach, and I am CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked to the highest level.
I am passionate about my teaching work. I absolutely love it, and I believe this shows in my lessons. I aim to make the lessons fun, but at the same time I am thorough and professional.
I am married and have lived in the Orpington, Bromley and Chislehurst areas for the last 30 years.
My school years were spent in Grimsby Lincolnshire. Then I studied medicine at Dundee University for 5 years. After this I moved to central London and worked in IT for the Ministry of Defence and Local Government for 18 years.
