Mounts Pond Rd

Category -> junctions

The Junction of Mounts Pond Rd and St Austell Rd in Blackheath can be a bit confusing if you're seeing it for the first time.

As the photograph shows this is a crossroads, where the major road bends to the right. This means drivers travelling down Mounts Pond Rd should be able to continue to the right without giving way. However, drivers travelling up the hill in the opposite direction are often reluctant to yield, so drive defensively and be prepared to stop. When turning right be aware of the contraflow cycle lane. No entry signs are clearly visible so you may not continue ahead into Eliot HIll.

Consider giving a right turn signal. Even though you're going around a right bend it may be clearer to other road users if you put the indicator on.
