How to deal with red routes

If you are taking driving lessons in Kidbrooke and Blackheath you will see sometimes single or double red lines along the edge of the carriageway. Red routes are generally controlled by TFL who are also able to set their own speed limits.

On both single and double yellow lines you are allowed to drop off and pick up passengers, but there are restrictions on this on red lines. Red routes are designed to help the traffic flow.

The normal stops exercise

During driving tests examiners will ask you to pull over to the side of the road in several different situations. This is called the 'normal stops exercise'. However, they would not try to catch you out by asking you to park somewhere illegal. Avoid parking across driveways and opposite bus stops. You must pull over somewhere safe, convenient and legal and with due care and attention to your surroundings.
